SOS address to Notaries for The 4th Annual Indiana Notary Day

November 11, 2015

Indiana Notaries
C/O Daniel Lewis
President
Indiana Notary Association
PO Box 243
Carmel, IN 46043

Dear Indiana Notaries,

Please accept my apologies that I cannot join you today for Indiana Notary Day.  The Indiana Notary Association has put a lot of time and effort in to ensure this event is a success.  I know you will find it informational and helpful as you continue your good work as notaries.

When you apply to become a notary, you are not just becoming eligible to notarize documents.  You are becoming a public servant.  As a public servant myself, I can tell you there is no greater responsibility and reward than serving your fellow Hoosiers.  I know that you take this responsibility seriously as well, but I also hope you enjoy and appreciate the service you provide to others.

I am pleased to hear that you are continuing your partnership with Gleaners Food Bank.  I strongly believe in giving back to our community, particularly to those who need it most.  Since I took office, my staff and I have done several service projects, including two food drives for Gleaners Food Bank.  I applaud your efforts to better our neighborhoods through community service.

Keep up the good work!  Your role as a notary is a vital service to Hoosiers.  If my office can ever be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Connie Lawson

Indiana Secretary of State
